I first became aware of Huey Smith when I bought Dr John's Gumbo album on a recommendation from Dave and Wynnis (sp?) from Everyman Records in Nelson. The album was the good doctor's first tribute album to his hometown and contained a
medley of Huey Smith songs. 20 years later, with the CD re-release boom in full swing I finally managed to get a copy of this greatest hits collection.
Some terrific old New Orleans' boogie on this including the hits
High Blood Pressure and
Don't you know Yockomo and
Little Liza Jane.
