John Fullright's deceptively and simply titled album Songs is a gem of an album. Understated songs delivered quietly and emphatically.
The album starts with his "hit" Happy - where he clearly is not. Unusually for a country artist his songs are usually piano led.
I find it hard to pick what would be his best songs as the standard is so high throughout. Whether its When You're here, The one that lives too far or the final High Road the standard just does not let up.
Great stuff and after listening to this you will be assured that quality songwriting is still alive.
