Pictures and Paintings was a fitting last album to mark Charlie Rich's career of highs and lows.
It is interesting how difficultly this album was to classify with Discogs classifying it as any or all of Jazz, Funk (!), Soul, Blues, Folk, World and Country.
From the opening title track (written by Doctors Pomus and John) through Jazz infused versions of Rich's own standards like Don't Put No Headstone on My Grave, Every Time You Touch Me (I Get High) and Feel Like Going Home.
Sadly Charlie was gone within 3 years and we lost another great.
